A Popular chain of virtual restaurants called Rockets Kitchen, which specializes in serving all American dishes such as signature beef, chicken, and Swiss mushroom burgers, has launched a new cryptocurrency backed virtual restaurant in Dubai inspired by the popular DOGE coin.
The new restaurant will deliver food directly to people’s doors and receive payment in prominent cryptocurrencies such as DOGE, BNB, CRO, XRP, USDT, and SHIB.
This development closely follows the announcement of the Shiba Inu themed restaurant, called Welly’s which opened in Naples, Italy, on the 3rd of February, 2022.
Doge Burger, as the newly launched restaurant is called, was established from the first round of profits made from investment in DOGE and is designed to create a solid presence for cryptocurrency in Dubai while promoting its massive adoption by the general public.
The restaurant is opening not long after Tesla CEO Elon Musk tried to influence McDonald’s to accept payment in the coin sometime back in January after a cryptocurrency market sell-off saw an enormous loss of almost $600 billion with Dogecoin itself losing about 25%.
The statement made McDonalds jokingly reply that Tesla would have to first accept “grimace coin”, which led to a significant increase in the price of the fake Grimace Coins.
DogeCoin has enjoyed massive attention since its introduction to the blockchain community on the 6th of December, 2013, by Software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, who decided to create a payment system as a “joke”, making fun of the wild speculations in cryptocurrency at the time.
Since then, it has grown immensely, developed its community, reached a market cap of over $85 billion on the 5th of May, 2021 and is currently the 13th most valuable crypto coin by market cap.
Other merchants to begin accepting Dogecoin for purchases include AMC Theatres and a German Taxi company.
